A chill was in the air last night as mini-whirlwinds of leaves blew through Asheville and music goers filled the streets.  It felt like fall in the mountains, it felt like Halloween weekend, it felt like…Moogfest 2010! 

 

DJ King Britt  (who will also perform Friday with Rucyl as part of Saturn Never Sleeps) got it kicking at the hot new bar and eatery, The Southern.  An enthusiastic crowd filled the back bar, dancing to mashups that included Blondie and LCD Soundsystem, and getting their party groove on.  A few flashy folks were even rockin’ the costumes…who needs to wait for a contest?!  After the show, people lingered to finish off their Markers Marks on the rocks (according to bartender, Celeste, it was the drink of choice) and exchange tips and schedules for the next day.  It was an awesome start to what’s going to be an amazing weekend of music.

  • the dude tried to let people outside know about the situation inside moogaplex last night for bonobo... hopefully, the dude's efforts were appreciated... apologies to the vip management and security director for taking up your time... i'm sure the organizers will address the problem tonight...

  • I didn't drop $150 for a weekend pass to wait in line. The lineup and length of set times should have been adequately planned for the amount of people that will want to see the major acts. I heard from friends on "the inside" that Bonobo wasn't even crowded inside. These venues should be packed to capacity so everyone can see music. That is why we are all here after all.

  • So who else waited in line to try and see Bonobo and RJD2 for like two hours and couldn't get in. Glad you guys made money but we paid a lot of money †o see zero music
